Robert has more than 25 years of corporate counsel and business transactional experience representing a diverse group of clients in the amusement and entertainment business, as well as in the oil and gas industry. He currently serves as outside general counsel for the State Fair of Texas, a position he has held since 2004. Through his long-standing representation of the State Fair of Texas, Robert has an extensive background covering a wide variety of related areas of the law, including corporate governance, nonprofit and tax-exempt issues, public venues, sports and leisure, entertainment, amusement rides, insurance and business transactions.
His diverse practice and business background have also led to more than 20 years of experience in the oil and gas industry guiding clients through all aspects of their business cycles, including entity formation, acquisitions, due diligence, contracts and sale transactions.

Negotiated and drafted long term lease agreement between State Fair of Texas and City of Dallas for lease of Fair Park for the annual State Fair of Texas event
Negotiated and drafted long term game agreement between State Fair of Texas, University of Texas at Austin and University of Oklahoma for the annual TX-OU Football Game held in the Cotton Bowl Stadium in Fair Park
Negotiated and drafted numerous athletic event agreements with major college athletic programs (University of Texas, University of Oklahoma, Texas Tech University, Baylor University, Texas A&M College Station, United States Air Force Academy, United States Military Academy, Louisiana Tech and Oklahoma State University)
Negotiated and drafted numerous location agreements, materials releases, intellectual property license agreements and appearance releases with a variety of entertainment programs (NFL Films, The Oprah Winfrey Show, The Kelly Clarkson Show, Conan O’Brien Show, Queen of the South, Real Housewives of Dallas, Dude Perfect, Giant America, Chopped, Ridiculous Cakes, Carnival Kings, Deep Fried Masters, Shipping Wars, Carnival Eats, Little Women: Dallas)
