Biography

Josh has spent more than two decades counseling clients and litigating all types of business and real estate disputes. He has extensive experience handling land use and zoning matters, as well as trust and estate litigation. Josh has represented clients in jury and bench trials, appeals, and before numerous zoning boards. He also has handled complex electronic discovery matters, antitrust and trade practices litigation, debtor/creditor relations and bankruptcy proceedings, intellectual property litigation, and class action lawsuits over the course of his career. Josh continues to counsel a diverse group of clients – ranging from entrepreneurs and churches to large corporate entities – on a variety of topics including business and real estate matters, zoning and land use, organizational and governance issues, and policies and procedures. He also has served as a mediator in zoning and land-use related litigation.

Josh is active in civic and charitable organizations, currently serving as a member of the Board of Directors for The ALS Association’s Tennessee Chapter. He also has served as the chairman of the board for the Nashville Conflict Resolution Center, which provides free and sliding-scale mediation services to those in need in Davidson County, Tennessee, as well as chair of the Nashville Bar Association’s Chancery and Circuit Courts Committee. Josh remains active in those organizations, as well as the Nashville Bar Association’s Real Estate and Federal Courts Committees. Josh also has served as a director, officer and member of the executive committee of the Heritage Foundation of Williamson County, Tennessee—a non-profit that has been promoting historic preservation and community development in that area for more than half a century.

Josh regularly speaks throughout Tennessee and Kentucky on a variety of topics, including real estate, zoning and land use planning, presidential history, electronic discovery, social media, ethics and alternative dispute resolution. He has served as a guest lecturer at the University of Kentucky and the Nashville School of Law.

Josh earned his law degree from the University of Kentucky College of Law, where he served as an associate editor of the Kentucky Law Journal and vice president of the Equine Law Society. He also graduated from the University of Kentucky with a B.A. in journalism and political science, where he was co-editor-in-chief of The Kentuckian. Josh and his wife, Susan, reside in Franklin, Tennessee, with their son and daughter.
