Frost Brown Todd (FBT) is pleased to announce the appointment of 12 new members across the firm’s eight-state footprint, effective April 1, 2016. The following managing associates, listed by market, have been promoted to members:

Cincinnati, OH

Maureen A. Bickley is a member of the firm’s Product Liability and Tort and Insurance Defense practice groups. She handles national product liability litigation for manufacturers of consumer products, hand tools, construction materials and agricultural equipment. She also advises manufacturers with respect to warnings, instruction manuals and product warranties.  Bickley also represents clients on a wide range of commercial disputes, including breach of fiduciary duty, tortious interference and noncompete claims.

Luke J. Busam is a member of the Construction Law practice group and represents clients in a variety of matters, ranging from pay disputes, bid disputes, contract negotiations, mechanics liens and surety bond issues, to litigation, arbitration and mediation. He is a frequent speaker to groups of construction industry professionals on various topics, such as pay dispute strategies and best practices in construction contracting.

Chad N. Eckhardt practices in the firm’s Regulated Business practice group, with a focus on the health care industry. He advises businesses and health care entities in corporate matters, formation and structure, contract negotiation and regulatory compliance. Eckhardt has assisted numerous hospitals, physician practices, ancillary service providers and related entities on a wide range of issues pertaining to health care regulations and transitional aspects of the industry.

Indianapolis, IN

Timothy L. Karns practices in the firm’s Product Liability Litigation and Tort and Insurance Defense practice groups, focusing on the defense of businesses engaged in complex product liability litigation throughout the United States. He has significant experience representing manufacturers and retailers in every facet of the litigation process and has argued before a variety of state and federal tribunals. Karns concentrates his practice in product liability litigation, toxic tort and chemical exposure cases, premises liability matters, and general tort litigation.

Jennifer A. O’Guinn is a member in the Finance and Real Estate practice group, focusing her practice in both the lending/commercial services and bankruptcy/restructuring areas. She has significant experience as opinion counsel, including non-consolidation opinions in connection with complex lending transactions, and she also counsels clients in the area of IRS Revenue Procedure 97-13 regarding tax-exempt bond-financed facilities. O’Guinn is admitted to practice in Indiana and Ohio.

Keeana Sajadi Boarman is a member of theMergers and Acquisitions practice group, with a focus on the coal industry. She advises individuals and businesses in a variety of transactional matters, including general business planning, entity formation, mergers and acquisitions, and contract formation and negotiation.

Martha H. Staude is a member of the firm’s Regulated Business practice group and the insurance regulatory service team.  She advises insurance carriers on a variety of regulatory matters, including risk mitigation and compliance strategies, market conduct, and entity formation and licensing matters.  

Louisville, KY

Amy F. Curry practices in the firm’s Finance and Real Estate practice group, where she represents lenders, investors, developers and owners nationwide in complex real estate finance transactions. She has extensive experience in the tax credit industry and advises clients in structuring and closing deals involving a variety of affordable housing, historic preservation and community development programs. Amy is admitted to practice in New York and Kentucky.

Casey Wood Hensley is a member of the Product Liability Litigation and Tort and Insurance Defense practice groups. She serves as trial and appellate counsel on a variety of complex litigation matters concerning products liability, as well as cases involving premises liability, personal injury, breach of contract, business disputes and other issues. 

Nick Jones is a member of the firm’s Regulated Business practice group and focuses on assisting financial institution clients with regulatory issues and with all aspects of mergers and acquisitions. He also focuses his practice on representing franchise and distribution clients with the development and registration of franchise documents, compliance with state and federal franchise laws, and drafting and negotiating supply chain agreements.

J. Kendrick Wells, IV is a member of the Product Liability Litigation and Tort and Insurance Defense practice groups. He regularly counsels clients on a wide range of complex commercial disputes and insurance coverage matters. He represents clients in all stages of litigation, including trials, arbitrations and appeals.

West Chester, OH

Alexander L. Ewing is a member of the firm’s Government Services and Labor and Employment practice groups, where he represents employers in private and public sector employment and labor relations matters, including collective bargaining negotiations, labor arbitrations, and employment litigation proceedings before state and federal courts.  He devotes a substantial amount of his practice to local government and school clients regarding labor relations matters. He also provides advice and training regarding employment law issues.
