Theresa A. Canaday has assumed the role of Litigation Department chair at Frost Brown Todd (FBT), one of the largest law firms in Middle America, with more than 500 attorneys in 12 offices across eight states. Canaday takes the reins from Adam Hall, who was promoted to chief executive officer on January 1, 2018.

FBT’s Litigation Department houses seven litigation practice groups, among them the Business Litigation Practice Group, which Canaday chaired for the past two years. Canaday, who joined FBT in 2001, continues to maintain an active law practice and focuses on representing Fortune 500 and Fortune 1000 corporations, closely-held businesses, startups and entrepreneurs in complex business matters. She also has substantial experience representing energy-sector entities in state and federal litigation. In 2017, Canaday was recognized in Benchmark Litigation Magazine as one of the nation’s “Top 250 Women in Litigation.”

“Theresa is an experienced litigator and she is highly respected by her clients and her FBT colleagues,” said FBT Chairman Robert Sartin. “We are fortunate to have her in this important leadership role as we continue to focus on how we can most effectively serve our clients.”

FBT’s trial lawyers represent international, national, regional and local corporations and individuals in all aspects of civil and white-collar criminal litigation. They also serve as advising, coordinating and national trial counsel and have extensive experience in complex litigation, multiparty cases and class actions.
