Frost Brown Todd (FBT) Charleston Member-in-Charge Carte P. Goodwin and Member Carol Smith have been selected to the 2018 edition of West Virginia Super Lawyers® for attaining a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement. No more than five percent of the lawyers in the state are selected for inclusion in the Super Lawyers publication. FBT Member Jared M. Tully has been selected to the 2018 edition of West Virginia Rising Stars®, recognizing him among the top two and a half percent of up-and-coming lawyers in the state.

Carte Goodwin is a member of FBT’s Business Litigation Practice Group and a principal of the firm’s public affairs subsidiary, CivicPoint. In addition to handling litigation matters for clients, he practices appellate advocacy, advises on government relations, intellectual property matters and commercial transactions.

Carol Smith is a member of FBT’s Products, Torts and Insurance Practice Group as well as FBT’s Labor and Employment Practice Group. Smith has served on three national trial teams, and focuses on representing professionals whose reputations – and, quite often, licenses and livelihoods – are at stake in professional malpractice litigation.

Jared Tully is a member of the firm’s Business Litigation Practice Group and represents financial institutions, national banks and corporations in complex litigation involving claims of predatory lending practices, contractual matters, and consumer and commercial disputes.

Super Lawyers, part of Thomson Reuters, is a rating service of outstanding lawyers from more than 70 practice areas. The annual selections are made using a patented multiphase process that includes a statewide survey of lawyers with independent research, peer nominations and peer evaluations.
