With the new year underway, Frost Brown Todd is pleased to announce the appointment of four new members across the firm’s eight-state footprint. The following former managing associates were named members effective January 1, 2016: Neal Shah and Patrick Woodside in Cincinnati, and Jennifer Y. Barber and Joshua M. O’Bryan in Louisville.
Neal Shah is a member in the firm’s Labor and Employment Practice Group. He has represented employers in single plaintiff, and class and collective action litigation claims under various federal and state employment laws. He regularly advises clients on compliance with regulations that govern hiring, discipline, compensation, termination and other employment practices. Shah has been recognized by Ohio Rising Stars® – an honor bestowed upon the top two percent of attorneys as voted by their peers in any particular state. He earned his J.D. at Boston College Law School in 2007.
Patrick Woodside is a member of the Finance and Real Estate Practice Group. He focuses his practice on public finance, project finance, and related state law and federal tax issues associated with the issuance of taxable and tax-exempt bonds. He also advises private and public clients on economic development matters, public incentives and public-private partnerships. Woodside attended The Ohio State University, where he earned an MBA in 2002 and his J.D. in 2005. He joined FBT in 2012.
Jennifer Y. Barber is a member of the Tax Law Practice Group in Louisville. She focuses in the areas of state and local tax, tax controversy and litigation, as well as economic development and incentives. Barber currently serves on the Kentucky State Fair Board on appointment by former Governor Steve Beshear and on the U.S. Bank Louisville Advisory Board. She was part of Louisville’s “Forty Under 40” Class of 2011, the Leadership Louisville Class of 2014, and was selected Louisville’s “Enterprising Woman to Watch” by Louisville Business First in 2015. She has been included in each annual edition of Kentucky Rising Stars® since 2013 and has a Martindale-Hubbell ® AV Preeminent Peer Review Rating. Barber earned her J.D. at the University of Kentucky in 2008.
Joshua M. O’Bryan is a member of FBT’s Mergers and Acquisitions Practice Group and advises clients on a broad range of transactional matters, including business combinations, securities compliance and corporate governance. He also counsels on investor relations and institutional governance, such as charters, codes of conduct, ethics matters and executive compensation. Before entering the practice of law, O’Bryan had a career in sales and operations management in the construction industry. He then attended the University of Louisville Brandies School of Law, where he earned his J.D./MBA in 2008. He has been included in Kentucky Rising Stars® annually since 2013.
