Biography

Meghan primarily represents institutional lenders in commercial real estate transactions.  Meghan has represented lenders in the origination of more than 100 CMBS, construction, variable rate (interest cap protected) and mezzanine loans totaling more than $1.3 billion in volume secured by hotel, office, medical, retail, multifamily (including manufactured housing communities), self-storage and industrial properties located in 31 states and the District of Columbia.  Meghan has developed an expertise in collateralizing complex real estate ownership interests derived from or subject to ground leases, condominium regimes, tenancy in common agreements and planned community developments.  Meghan’s representation of lenders also extends to warehouse lending transactions, defeasance substitutions and loan modification, forbearance and workout agreements.  Following the enactment of the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act in March, 2020, Meghan expanded her practice to include representation of borrowers and lenders in the origination, sale and servicing of loans issued under the Main Street Lending Program.

Following her tenure as Staff Attorney to the Honorable Jude Jo Ann Wise of the Fayette County Family Court, Meghan joined the firm’s CMBS Lending & Servicing practice group in 2013.  Equipped with a heart for servant leadership, Meghan spent some time as in-house counsel for her hometown of Nicholasville, Kentucky, from April, 2017 to May, 2018.  Meghan re-joined the firm in June, 2018, to continue her commercial lending and real estate practices.
