• Advising clients on spill prevention planning, storm water management, waste reduction and waste disposal options.
• Preparing annual reports to satisfy compliance with community right-to-know laws including the EPCRA – Tier 2 Chemical Inventory and TRI Chemical Release Reporting.
• Providing guidance in emergency planning and preparedness, site security, incident investigations, process safety management (PSM) compliance and other OSHA standards.
• Actively engaging with employee exposure assessments including workplace testing and monitoring, Personal Protective Equipment selection, and worker training.
• Counselling clients on requirements under national and international chemical disclosure laws including the European Union’s REACH and RoHS, OSHA’s Global Harmonization Standard, and California’s Prop 65.

Prior to joining Frost Brown Todd, Ken spent 30 years in the chemical and plastics manufacturing businesses where he managed EHS programs in St. Louis, MO; Bridgeport, NJ; Houston, TX; and Cincinnati, OH. His extensive experience includes the following:

• Provided regulatory permitting, compliance program development and implementation, employee training programs, auditing, and third-party certifications.
• Managed and maintained wastewater treatment plants, air pollution control equipment, boiler systems, landfills, and thermal incinerators. He is also well versed in other aspects of manufacturing, including site infrastructure, utility operations, transportation systems, QA/QC laboratories, maintenance, engineering, and capital project management.
• Directly involved with multiple corporate mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures along with the associated environmental due diligence of those transactions.
• Managed safety, medical, and industrial hygiene programs. This includes general compliance with OSHA regulations, process safety management (PSM) standards, site security, emergency preparedness, incident investigations, workplace exposure assessments, and medical surveillance programs.
• Experienced in organizational redesign where EHS compliance responsibilities were integrated throughout a manufacturing organization.
• Performed chemical trade association work at the state and federal levels involving various advocacy programs and lobbying initiatives. Previously served as an officer and board member of the Ohio Chemistry Technology Council. Nationally, he was a past member of the American Chemistry Council and served on the State Government Affairs Round Table Committee.
• Worked in the environmental consulting business in Cincinnati where he supported a variety of clients with environmental and safety-related projects and worked directly for manufacturers providing temporary EHS staffing services.
