Biography

Jake focuses his practice in the areas of Real Estate and Finance.  Jake assists developers, lenders, borrowers, purchasers, sellers, lessors, and lessees in various real estate transactions, including commercial lending, purchases and sales, option agreements, and commercial leasing.  He also represents both energy companies and landowners in real estate transactions involving the renewable energy industry, such as solar energy leases and related option agreements.  In addition to real estate and finance matters, Jake also advises local governments and public entities on issues involving municipal law.

Previously, Jake served as Assistant Vice President and Senior Claims Counsel with an industry-leading title insurance underwriter. In that role, Jake managed title insurance claims processes for both property owners and residential and commercial lenders from coverage determinations through title defense and title curative litigation. Prior thereto, he practiced with a mid-sized law firm in Indiana, focusing on general liability defense litigation, business litigation, and real estate matters.  Jake is a cum laude graduate of the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law, where he served as a Note Development Editor on the Indiana Law Review.
