Indiana Chamber CEO and President Kevin M. Brinegar has named Michael A. Biberstine to the Chamber’s newly established Government Affairs Council. The Council serves as an advisory committee to Brinegar and the Chamber’s government affairs team. Made up of corporate government affairs professionals from throughout the state, the Council provides a forum for networking and discussing top issue concerns, priorities, policy and best practices.
“I look forward to working with the State Chamber and the other council members on issues impacting business in Indiana,” says Biberstine.
Biberstine is a member of Frost Brown Todd (FBT) and a principal of CivicPoint, a subsidiary of FBT which advocates for clients using a range of political strategies. He assists clients from a range of industries in their interactions with state and local governments and represents them in state and local procurement matters.
Biberstine formerly served as Indianapolis Chamber of Commerce Public Policy Director, where he led efforts to improve the efficiency of government. As a board member of the Central Indiana Regional Transportation Authority, he helped form and activate a coalition to advocate for improved transit options in central Indiana that successfully passed legislation in 2014. He has also served as Deputy Prosecutor in Marion County, as a Republican party executive and as special counsel in the office of the Mayor of Indianapolis. Biberstine earned his undergraduate degree at Wabash College and his J.D. at Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law.
