Frost Brown Todd (FBT) announces the addition of Member Christopher (“Monty”) Montgomery to the firm’s Finance and Real Estate Practice Group and Columbus office, where he will counsel private and public entities in various real estate and acquisition projects.
Montgomery has broad experience representing clients, ranging from developers and small businesses to multinational corporations, in all types of real estate projects. He has assisted in structuring joint ventures, partnerships, real estate syndications and tax-deferred exchanges, and has represented real estate private equity firms in the acquisition of various large-scale projects throughout the country. He has also worked with public and private landowners in matters relating to oil and gas leasing and shale development, as well as negotiated oil and natural gas pipeline easement agreements. He has represented one of the “Detroit Big Three” automakers in a range of real estate matters.
Montgomery is a former reporter for the Cleveland Plain Dealer and Dayton Daily News, covering commercial real estate, automotive and general business. He earned his undergraduate degree at Princeton University and an M.A. at Northwestern University Medill School of Journalism. He earned his J.D. at the Ohio State University, where he was an articles editor for the OSU Law Journal.
