    COVID-19 Causes Disruption in Business Interruption Insurance

Legislators in many states have introduced measures that would require insurers to pay claims on business interruption losses attributed to the COVID-19 pandemic. If successful, such legislation could override the ability of insurance carriers to rely on policy exclusions which would normally preclude payment on business interruption claims. To date, these measures have not yet been passed by each state’s respective legislature.
